Customs for weddings in Ukraine

In Ukraine, marriage customs are rich and varied, reflecting both national and regional customs. While some of them have Slavic origins, another have assimilated themselves into contemporary couples and activities. We’ll discuss a few of them in this article, including chick parties, matchmaking, viewing and engagement ceremonies, and the actual wedding.

A hen group, which is customarily held two or three days before the marriage, is the most significant event for a wife. It was a somber way to say goodbye to womanhood and used to be an important rite of passage. These days, it’s more of a loud and joyous celebration of the last time the wedding will see her associates who are single before the big day.

The man and his family would go to the potential bride’s house before the marriage to see her and assess the female. The young woman would emerge wearing her best attire and a flower crown after the kid’s family had welcomed them. She do respond to queries and extol her values. The pair trade rings and beverage vodka during the wedding ceremony. Additionally, they are given a round loaf of bread known as korovai.
